 California: New Resort Near L.A.
On a stunning oceanfront setting on the exclusive Palos Verdes Peninsula, 20 miles from Los Angeles, Terranea Resort opens this June, complete with a Ted Eckenro re-designed 9-hole golf course and a spa. Perfect for a sunny weekend of golf practice for the whole family, the par three course is a little dazzler, with wide ocean views, elevation changes, contours, bunkering, and chipping and putting greens. Macho players can head up the coast just two miles to the Trump National Golf Course.
Some guests will check into The Spa at Terranea and never check out: 24 treatment rooms, VIP suites, private ocean views, spa cabanas around the spectacular oceanfront lap pool, a health-focused spa café, a huge fitness center, outdoor yoga terrace, and an array of classes and outdoor recreation.
On more than 100 acres, the new 5-star resort is comprised of a 360-room luxury hotel, plus 20 2-bedroom bungalows and 32 suites, 50 3-bedroom casitas and 32 2- and 3-bedroom villas. Among three swimming pools, one has a play area and a 140-foot waterslide. Ocean view dining venues include a casual eaterie, a glamorous signature restaurant, a cliff-side bar and cafes. Bluff-top footpaths meander the property and connect with miles of coastal trails and a secluded beach cove.
